True Life: I crafted with a sorority sister!

Standard

My best friend is in a sorority at UF and the other day after browsing Pintrest mindlessly after a day at the beach she suggested we do some crafting! Now lets make one thing clear I am not artsy and I suck at crafts. But we went to Hobby Lobby, got some supplies, and headed back to her house!  She got an oval wooden plaque, a cute hook to drill into the wooden oval, and some paint.  Her idea was to paint on a purple and blue floral pattern and then drill in the hook.  This way she could hang it on the wall and have a cute place to put her keys!  It came out really cute! I wish I had a picture.  I, on the other hand, just bought a wooden box and some stencils and painted it, it was simple but still really fun!  Crafts are a sorority girls “thing” so it was fun to hear all of my best friends ideas of what to craft and the best way to go about it! Next time I am going to make a row of hooks to hang all my hats and scarves on!

This is how my box turned out!:

It was also nice to be over at my best friends house and get to see her parents and brothers. We’ve been friends since middle school and I like to consider her family my second family. After dinner we went to Mochi’s Frozen Yogurt.  I got red velvet cake and creme brûlée fro-yo! It was sooo good, and I topped it all off with crushed oreos!

I don’t know if you can tell or not but I snuck a bite or two before I snapped the pic! Oops!

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands.

When life gives the the opportunity to use one of the most overused Legally Blonde lines for a blog title, you take it!

Scripted lines or not this statement stands true.  Exercise does indeed give you endorphins and endorphins do make people happy, Elle Woods was no liar.  I used to absolutely detest going to the gym, every last thing about it.  To this day it is still not one of my favorite things to do, more like a chore I need to cross off my list.  But like most chores it is the after-reward that makes it worth it.  Just like cleaning your room is a pain, you can’t deny how much better you feel once it is cleaned. Same with the gym. Once you put in your hard work and time you get to go home, take a hot shower, and you feel amazing! I always find it easier to smile after a workout. I, as many white girls in their twenties, suffer from BRF (bitchy resting face).

After putting some time in at the gym smiling seems to come easier and I am typically in a happier mood!  THAT is what keeps me going to the gym.
